Pastoral Letter

Dear Friends,

I am delighted to be writing this pastoral letter to you all as one of my final duties as Interim Moderator.   You have elected and called Glenda Keating to be your minister.   Not only do I wish Glenda well in this new chapter in her life and in the continuing life of Craigie and Symington Parish Churches but I also look forward to making a new ministerial friend.

Glenda and her husband are a charming couple who will grace your parish with warmth and energy.

It has been a great joy to me to have been your Interim Moderator.   It's a task which isn't easy.   But it has been made much easier for me through the good work of John Banks and through the great co-operation of both Session Clerks and of all office bearers.

Both churches have long distinguished histories.   They are woven into the fabric of Scottish and Ayrshire life.

The very stone breathes their own stories and I am persuaded that another wonderful period of witness is about to enfold among you.  Please welcome Glenda and Robert and be assured of my continuing prayers for your well being.  I look forward   to visiting in Symington and Craigie and perhaps also to preaching once more in your midst.

Meantime do your best to be in Symington Church for the Induction.   It promises to be a great night, organised by a keen committee.

With kindest regards

Yours sincerely

Alistair H Symington

Interim Moderator
